After studying Physics at King's College, London, Nicos Hadjicostis worked briefly as a journalist in his birthplace Cyprus, and published a Greek-language magazine called Introspection. He then created the first private radio station whilst working in his family-owned media group, eventually becoming the group's COO. At the age of 35, he heeded the call of a mid-life crisis and left the business world to retreat to the countryside. There, he read books, wrote, and meditated on the meaning of life for four years. In 2005 he traveled to New York from where he embarked on what would become a 6.5-years-continuous-around-the-world journey. His aim was to treat the world as a single destination, and to explore it as if it were one huge country. During the journey he wrote his thoughts and discoveries in his "Diary of Ideas." Out of those ideas on travel, the world, and life, his first book "Destination Earth -- A New Philosophy of Travel by a World-Traveler" organically took form.AUTHOR HOME: Nafplio, Greece
